My canon iP1200 printer is unable to recognise the newly installed color catridge what should i do? -

It is a brand new catridge but it is displaying quot;Out of Inkquot;. I have already cleaned out the catridge slot a few times. I have also restarted the printer 2-3 times still no desired result. Please help!

Have you reset the ink levels, because if you don t the printer still thinks the cartridge is still empty? Start ? Settings ? Printers amp; Faxes ? Right click on your printer and select Properties ? Maintenance ? Reset Ink Counter Levels [It will ask you which one you replaced or both] ? Send to printer ? Apply amp; OK

Did you take the piece of tape off the bottom? Try this, turn your printer off, turn your pc off. unplug your printer from electricity. Wait a few minutes (10 ), plug in the printer, turn it on, turn your pc on. Now see if it works.
