Can my printer print on overhead projection sheets? -

I have a Brother HL-5140 and I ve search the internet, but cannot find out if this printer will print on the overhead projection quot;paperquot; or if it will melt the plastic sheets. Can anyone with this printer tell me? Or can someone tell me what wording to look for on a list of printer specs that will tell me? Thanks!

you just need to find out if it s an ink jet or a laser printer, and then go buy the specific kind of overhead sheets used for whichever one you own.

Certain printers can do this, but proceed with caution as you can t just use any overheads, you need to buy overheads capable of going through a Laser printer. If you refer to the web site I have provided the answer you want is there

If you have laser compatible transparencies it should not be an issue. If the transfer paper is designed for a laser printer it will not melt in the fuser, as the acetate is formulated with a higher melting point. All you need is LASER compatible transparencies.

In addition to using transparencies designed for laser printers you need to go into the printer properties and tell the printer that you are using transparencies not just paper. It will run the fuser at a cooler temperature so that you do not melt the plastic transparency.

Yes you can print on the plastic sheets. All you have to do is get a good quality Transparency Film. I m using 3M Multipurpose Transparency Film (CG6000). You can find more details from link below.
