How do I get my printer to stop telling me theres banner paper in it? -

When I try to print a document, it tells me that I have banner paper, which I don t. How do I reset it to normal printer paper?

Windows has set the default printing to banner. To do this, click Start menu in XP and go to Printer and Faxes. It will open a window with your printer installed. Select your printer and if default, (it will have a checked reversed in black background) just right click your printer and select quot;Propertiesquot;. A new window will appear. It will have tab like quot;General, Sharing, Ports, Advancedquot; and so on. In General tab, look for quot;Printing Preferences..quot; and click it. I m not sure what is your printer name but look for Page Setup gt; Page Size and just change your paper from quot;Bannerquot; to quot;Letterquot; or quot;A4quot; or any desire size. Then just click OK to apply the changes and exit Printing Preferences and click OK again to apply global to Windows. Then you can test the printout to see changes that has been made.

Have you checked your printer settings through the control panel? Go to your quot;printers and faxesquot; (or Printers and other hardware) in the control panel... find that printer, click on it once, on the left side you should see where you have options under quot;printer tasksquot; -- one of them should be quot;printing preferencesquot; click that. Once the window pops up, you should see a few tabs .. one of them being quot;PAPERquot;.. go there and make sure you have it set for LETTER or A4 (depending on where you are -- Letter is mostly US). Once it s on letter, click quot;applyquot; at the bottom of that window, then close it. It should work then. One way to double-check is: while your in the application that you creating the doc from (Word?), go to filegt;Printgt; When the print window pops up and you see your printer at the top, click the quot;PROPERTIESquot; BUTTON that s on the right. Once again, you ll see those tabs (general, paper, etc.) choose the PAPER tab and see if it isn t set to LETTER.... Hope this helped! Maggie B

Hatason s answer is the right one. It s actually pretty simple to do. Follow the steps he says, and you should be able to get it. :)

Delete the printer driver, restart computer, a new driver will be installed.
