The print status window on my printer shows only funny symbols - how do I make it show English? -

I have an Epson CX5500 printer. When it shows the print status window (the window that lets me choose printing options, black and white, colour etc) it show funny symbols. What do I need to do to make this window show English writing?

go into the menu and scroll down until you came to english then press ok
