Why does file size increase when spooling to a printer? -

I don t know much about printers, but we have a Canon (colour) MFP at work. When I look at the properties of a PDF file it says 142KB. When I send it to print it takes ages to spool and says it s 18MB!? This has happened with various other files, some JPEGS. Why is this?

i dought u had a file that small. but it increases by reconverting the file or only the printer. you bought one bad printer though so it has to reconvert the file to make it larger to read the file.
