How do you find files from your printers history? -

i have HP 1020 is their any way to see the printed files history . i don t have any idea abt it help me.

Unfortunately there is no printed files history kept in the computer or printer. Once a file is printed and deleted from the printer s print queue it is no longer relevant to the computer or printer. If the document was printed from an application like Word or Excel, etc., they will keep a list of recently accessed/opened files if enabled, but will not keep records of whether the document was printed or not. Best of luck.

How do I get my printer to print even though my yellow ink is out? -

I have 4 color cartridges in my Brother MFC-440CN USB Printer. The screen on the printer keeps telling me to replace the empty cartridge. I ll settle for printing in black and white, but it won t let me!!!!!!!!

You don t you need to replace the yellow cartridge. Most newer printers will not print if one cartridge is empty. This is because ALL cartridges are used when printing, even in black. There is no way to override this. You do need to replace the yellow.

How do I make my wifi printer wireless? -

I have a linksys router which makes my PC, and laptop wireless, but I don t know how to connect my printer to it? there are only connections for eee? and my printer is USB?

if you connect it to your computer you can share it with your network start control panel find your printer right click printer sharing check share this printer give it a name check list in the directory now just point your other computers at it on the network and they can use it too

Connect the printer to the PC. Then share the printer on the local network. That s the only way to do it if the printer isn t wireless itself. It will work fine.

Is there a place one can send used printer cartridges to for refill? -

....A place that uses good quality ink and saves me some of the money I would spend buying new cartridges.

123Injets http://www.123Inkjets.com

nope... that s why the cartridges are so expensive.. that s how they make money. you can recycle the cartridges.. but that s about it. you can go online to get cheaper cartridges than the retail stores, but the ink qualities are a bit lower... but works for most documents.

Most office supply stores will give you a discount on cartridges if you take them the old ones.

Try www.empties4cash.com Also, try ordering Office Depot brand of your cartridges. There a way cheaper than HP or any others.

Is there a way to set margins to 0 on Epson 1520 printers, while printing tractor feed mode? -

I keep getting gaps, during doing a long printout, and there seems to be no way to prevent this.

You will have to check the specifications of your printer in the handbook. Some printers will print edge to edge, whilst others require at least 1cm margin. You could be getting short of ink as well.

have you gone into the PAGE SETUP part where you click on print..there may be a pull down menu next to it ....or in your printers setup and put the margins as close to 0 as you can?..this has always worked for me

Is there a way you can find a document of something youve printed and re-print it again? -

I was wondering if there s a way you could find a document of something you ve printed from the past? So you can re-print it again?

Yes there is..... if you remembered what you may have saved it as you can go to the start menu, then search, then you will see a search box at the lower bottom of the screen. Type in what you think you may have saved it as, and it will search all documents pertaining to that name... the search usually goes all the way back in the past for trashed documents.... Other questions: did you clean out your recycle bin? if not, then you could go there to find it. Or you could just do a restore point back to when you did that document; print it, then restore it back to your settings today...

If you still have the actual copy, you could scan it at a high resolution and print it out.

Can a printer that is set to print black and white by default be changed to print one color item? -

My college has a laser printer that defaultly prints black and white, is there some setting i can adjust for it to print color for one time, so I can print my brochure? Thanks.

First the particular laser printers that are available for a particular PC hooked into your college network would have to have integrated COLOR capabilities, and if so you would have to designate that COLOR LASER PRINTER. Next for most software, when you say PRINT DOCUMENT or PRINT PAGE normally before one click okay, there is a PROPERTIES BOX that lets one specify Black amp; White or Color and like Drafts etc. Your NEXT BEST BET would be tp visit your local FedEX KINKOS, STAPLES or OFFICE DEPOT and pay the fee...also if you were out to impress you could also buy a package of HP Brochure or HP matte paper. Hope the Above Info Helps...

Only if there is a colour toner installed, otherwise it ll be black and white

How do you unjam a cannon printer? -

My printer appears to have something jammed in the paper feed. Every time it rotates, a white powder appears on the rollers. I m not sure if it is something like a sweet, or if the powder is something to do with the printer, like white ink.

Exact instructions for fixing this are going to depend on your printer model. What you ll need to do here is to clean the rollers. I d suggest going to the Canon site and selecting your printer model -- there is an option for support. Within that area you should be able to find the specifics directions for taking apart and cleaning your printer. Here is the url: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro…

How can I connect my laptop to the printer? -

I m staying at a friends house. We both know a little about computers. We haven t been able to figure out how to connect our laptops to the printer. How can we do this? Any directions to follow? Please, make it easy..step by step.

Put the install disk for the printer in the laptop. Run the install, it will tell you when to plug in the printer. Plug the printer into the laptop usb port. Finish the install. Print. If you don t have the disk, go to the printer manufacturer s web site and download the install file.

This depends greatly on the printer and how it is connected. You can connect to a printer via a network if it is network connected. You can connect the printer to a computer via USB or parallel cable and share it over a network. Some even work with bluetooth. But it all depends on the printer and how it is connected.

ok most lap tops connect to printer via usb if not very big printer port on the back of old laptops, you need to run set up disk for printer then connect printer to lap top or if on ex or later connect printer to laptop it will say new hardware found and install in auto mode

Will my printer ink last longer if I keep the printer turned off? -

As opossed to keeping it turned on?

just the opposite. if you turn the printer off it will do a head cleaning when you turn it back on which wastes a lot of ink. if you leave it off for long periods, the ink in the print head can clot which might destroy your printer completely. you should always leave inkjet printers on. it takes very little power and it keeps the ink from clotting.

I would imagine that you already have an idea that it wont use any ink if it is switched off but on saying that, so many others have let you know that it may clog up the outlet on your cartridge. Would your car if you have one use any fuel if it is not running i.e. switched off.

The printer only uses ink to print. But if you don t use a printer for awhile, rather off or on, it will need to clear the print-heads which uses a little ink. Turning it off has nothing to do with ink consumption though.

Printer ink is used to print, so if you leave it on, the printer ink will remain at the same ink level as you last used it.

Most likely the printer head will be clogged if left unused for awhile.

No, ink will only be used if you print.

No. You are no using ink when it is turned on unless you are printing something

ur printer ink doesnt waste until u use it lol

No it doesn t matter

no

no

well if its off it wont print soooo yes

How do I know which ink refill kit to buy? -

I own a Lexmark printer/scanner and I want to try to refill the ink cartridges instead of buying new ones. But how do I know what refill kits to buy?

The package in the store will say which printer model the kit is for. There are also web sites which sell kits, like the one on the link below. http://www.atlanticinkjet.com/ You might also find a place that re-fills ink cartridges if you look in your local Yellow Pages. One of these places has franchises all over Canada and the U.S. http://www.islandinkjet.com/ Places like that usually have money-back guarantees too. They are more expensive than refilling the cartridge yourself, but if something goes wrong, at least you can get your money back.

Follow your heart

Look on the package of the refill kit, it will say which models are supported. They usually support most (if not all) printers.

Any one of them should work. If you can find one that says it s specifically compatible with Lexmark, but that one. You should only need one kit for color and one for black and white. Depending on how your cartridge is made, you may or may not have sucess with a refill kit.

Keep in mind that it is best to get new cartridges, in my opinion. However, if you still want to go that route, you will need the part number of the original ink cartridges, listed on the ink cartridges themselves. Then go to a store that sells ink refill kits, and use that part number. The store representative can help from there.

Try ezeinks.co.uk. Their ink is manufactured to ISO 9001 standard and uses 0.2 microns filtered ink. They are cheap!

I checked out prices at different sites and stores. The refills for black were somewhere in the 14 or 15 dollar. The color was near 18 dollars. I stopped in a WalMart the other day and the Hp that I have had original (Not refill) at $11 for Black and $15 for color. You choose. I hear that refills have ink that has Ph. problems with it. Stick with the original.

Is their anyway to print pictures off my computer without using my printer? -

It sounds weird but i want to know if their is any disk of any sort i can put pictures on to print them off. Or any other way to do it. Because I kinda have an old printer and i got the special printer paper and everything but it still comes out with bad quality. Is their anyother way?

yes, you can put them on a media card (compactflash, SD, xD, etc) and take them to the local wal-mart, wal-greens, or other photo place and they can print them from the media card. You can do this with a CD or USB drive as well

I order pictures online, they are cheap. Usually can find a new site that offers low prices and even free shipping. Just Google it and you ll be amazed.

What can i do to prevent inkjet cartridges from drying out? -

I know somebody suggested to print atleast a page a week......other then doing this is there any other solution to the problem?By the way i have hp all-in one and a lexmarx z series and both are inkjets...i have never got the cartridges dry so far.....Thanx in advance

PUt them in plastic bag or wrap the cartrdige is saran wrap. Just as long as it is air tight, you are safe and you can re-use.

Some printer models have means of cleaning the printheads. When we do not use them for extended periods, you could remove them from your printer and place tape over the print heads to stop the bleeding of the ink, as them manufacturer does when he ships it to you. Your cold also use a handy Zip lock bag, to stop any air from reaching the print head. Otherwise air will dry up your cartridges very fast.

Once you remove the seal on the inkjet cartridge, the fluid inside could start to evaporate but frankly, I haven t had any problems like that with either my epson (which uses ink that is separate from the print head) and my canon scanner/printer (integrated print head). I ve had to clean HP inkjets that got clogged up from not being used for a long time but I don t recall having one quot;dry outquot;.

here is some info which might help http://ccs-digital.com/inkjetcare.asp

2 good answers and here s another one. If you remove the carts the nozzles will dry up and clog in the printer. So if you save the carts from drying you cannot stop the nozzles from clogging. If you want to save money on ink, then get a CISS for your printer. You will still have to print 1 or 2 times a week but you will save Tons of money. http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ If it s that you just do not do any amount of printer then get a Laser printer. They use Toner rather than ink and you should never get clogged nozzles, and the Toner is dry to begin with. These are your only options.

Ziplock (tm) bags is your answer. :)

If you can t print at least one page a week, you have no need of a printer. You should sell your printers and go the local library when you need something printing
