Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced printer that is especially good for printing digital photos? -

My nephew just bought a Kodak C813 digital camera and I was thinking about giving him a printer for Christmas. He is going to school so he doesn′t have a bunch of money to waste on consumables i.e. ink refills,paper etc. so it would be nice to have the best of both worlds.

First color printer was a combination HP Officejet and the inkjet cartidges (has 2: one black and one tricolor) are expensive and don t last. I already owned a HP Laserjet (B/W) that printed professional quality letters and resumes, but always had an itch for a HP Color Laserjet (very heavy and 4 color toners are like $100 apiece but if you re patient you can buy genuine ones on EBAY much cheaper). Anyway, with expensive HP brochure and matte paper, what a huge difference in the end product that the reader sees amp; touches! Actually for photos, I think the consumables are too expensive that viisting Costco. Walmart etc and paying $.19 a print is much more cost effective in the long run bec FIRST OF ALL, you don t have to buy color printer and then over time, ink cartridges will mount up to many $$. The basic problem is till now No color printers comes cheap. Inkjets equipment cost is less running cost is high Laser printers Running cost is reasonable but equipment cost id bit high.
