How do I force my printer to keep printing on low ink? -

Hello, I have an Epson Stylus CX6000 that refuses to print because it thinks that it is out of ink. The truth is that it is low on ink, but not out. Do you know how I could get around this and force my printer to keep printing until the ink actually runs out? Thanks.

The Epson CX6000 printers take the 69 series of cartridges. Once the printer registers these as empty, there is a fuse in the chip that is burn out. Only way to get around it is to replace the cartridge. Sorry.

For anyone happening upon this page: The best way to get around this and all the other problems is to never buy Epson again. They might have been decent in the past but now their printers (and customer service) is rubbish. Avoid at all costs Report Abuse

As a design feature epson printers leave a 20% residual ink in their cartridges. This is to protect the print head which is integrated into the printer. Although when you shake the cartridges you can still hear ink, there is no quot;usable ink left in the cartirdge. Unfortunately there is no way around this short of replacing the effected cartridge(s)

Remove the cartridge (black or color) that is low on ink and put it back in. It might think you installed a new one. Typically printers count the number of pages printed and not the ink level to determine if the ink is low.
