How can I set my printer up as wireless? -

I have my laptop setup as wireless (using a Netgear dongle) and my wife s laptop runs of the same wireless router (Netgear) using internal hardwear. All of this seems a bit pointless because if we want to send stuff down to the printer we have to get the USB cable out. Is there an inexpensive way to talk to the printer quot;wirelesslyquot;?

Yes, they make wireless Print server boxes. They are reasonable. Here s one. There are many others. Some that can be used for Parallel printers too I believe. This one supports up to 4 USB printers http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores… Check Pricewatch for others..

Wireless printer would be cool and all wouldn t it! Setting up a hub to the wireless router and then network the laptops together. So the hub is conected to the router and then hook the cable up to the printer from the hub. I hope this helps some what?

Linksys has a wireless print server for USB and parallel printers. Netgear has the same thing. They are available for about $100 from many computer stores like Best Buy or CompUSA. A link is included below for the Netgear on TigerDirect so you can see its options.

if the printer dosent have wifi then no but if it is wifi enable lookup an online guide to it but another way if it has an LAN port, get a ethernet cord and plug one end into your router and one end into the printer and then goto print... or ctrl+p then you ll see a window and below it some buttons, click the one that says find printer and there ya go... good luck

S***! I ve been tinkering with my old wireless all afternoon trying to turn it into a printer, but it s the other way around. I m too old for all this techno nonsense.
