Pour a tiny bit of water on the ink (not enough to damage the document!!). If it runs, it s an inkjet, if it stays, it s laserjet.
Lasers deposit tiny granules of toner then melt it into the paper. The edges of characters will be rough and through a microscope you can see the granules. Injets spray ink on the paper and it soaks in.
Use a magnifying glass to look at the ink. Inkjet will look more dotted, and laser printer will be smooth and shiny
